When I began my Desire Map journey I was looking for a way to feel, really feel love again. That warmth, the twinge, the achey, bursting-open joyous sensation of love. I was kind of fearful that I wasn’t just numb to it, and that I was, perhaps, in the wrong place altogether. It turns out many “new” moms feel that numbness- the drain and fatigue of motherhood has taken its toll on our hearts and emotions too. Can you relate? But while my practical side could sort of see this, it still bothered me that I couldn’t conjure up the feeling at will. And because of that, I was scared to start this work. I was afraid the answers would reveal something I couldn’t fathom.
Spoiler alert- it didn’t! My journey revealed so much more! More potential. More opportunity. More creative power around love. I learned through this process of living and invoking my CDF’s (core desired feelings) that THESE are the foundation of creating that loving energy that had been zapped away. My relationship changed when I realized that I wasn’t lost or unable to conjure loving feelings. What I needed to do was to use my CDF’s to generate the good juju that following them creates. Because love is easier to feel when you’re giving your soul what it needs. So the equation for me now is, nurture the soul consciously = feel love more often and easily.
The consciously part is a big deal. I have to do things with purpose and awareness. I have to realize that something I am doing is something I really enjoy- I really LOVE. Generally, I feel gratitude for the moment first and that gratitude is closely followed by love. Sometimes it is overwhelming and can bring tears, which totally confuses my husband and even my daughter. I have to explain to her that these are “happy tears”.
And, oh boy, this love feels so much better.

- Within those moments, consciously acknowledge, appreciate, and feel
gratitude for your experience and emotions.
